What To Do If You Have a Car Accident

Here's a brief overview of what to do if you have a car accident:
  1. Remain calm and thoughtful. If you or anyone in your car is injured, stay in your car unless there is danger of a car fire or another accident.
  2. Use your cell phone to call the police and medical assistance.
  3. Avoid making statements about responsibility to the other driver(s) involved in the accident, witnesses, insurance reps for the other drivers, etc.
  4. Use an "Accident Information Form" (supplied through our office) to write down important details about the accident and the other vehicles(s)/driver(s) involved.
Most importantly, you need to take care of three things right away after the accident:
  1. Call an attorney
  2. Call YOUR insurance company to report the accident
  3. Call a doctor
